The Glencairn Whisky Glass

Designed in 2001 by Raymond Davidson of Glencairn Crystal and engineered with input from master blenders across Scotland, the Glencairn Glass is the official standard glass for Scotch whisky industry tastings worldwide. Its distinctive tulip shape, combining a wide bowl base for maximum liquid surface exposure with a tapered neck, channels heavy aromas directly upward while allowing ethanol harshness to dissipate. Made from lead-free crystal with a heavy, solid pedestal base instead of a stem, it provides a stable, palm-friendly grip that facilitates gentle swirling.
