The Whisky. Peat reek is the smell of burning peat, the flavours of which are imparted to malting barley as its is slowing dried while the smoky reek of the peat is drawn from over it. Blackadder’s Peat Reek is selected from cask of whiskies produced using malted barley that has been heavily imbued with the phenols and creosols of a gently-smouldering peat fire. This RP2022-04 batch is produced from a vatting of whiskies from undisclosed Islay distilleries and finished in an Oloroso Sherry cask, and bottled at cash strength.
