The Whisky. Hakushu 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt whisky produced by the Hakushu distillery, nestled deep in the forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake. Established in 1973, the distillery is renowned for crafting a fresh and foresty flavour profile single malt whiskies. The distillery uses soft, granite-filtered mountain water and employs a variety of pot still shapes and cask types to create complex, multi-layered whiskies. Hakushu 12 was first released in 1994 and has become Suntory's flagship expression showcasing the "green and fresh" house style.

Flavour Profile: Hakushu 12 is celebrated for its fresh, green, and herbaceous character — often described as the "forest whisky", with notes of fresh-cut grass, green fruits and a hint of jasmine tea. A subtle smoky character without overwhelming the herbal and fruity notes.
