Glenmorangie Signet Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Whisky: The Signet is the crown jewel of Glenmorangie's portfolio, a luxurious no-age-statement single malt that represents the creative vision of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's renowned Director of Distilling. Released in 2008, this exceptional whisky breaks from tradition by incorporating heavily roasted "chocolate malt" barley—a technique borrowed from stout brewing—into its production, a first for Scotch whisky. The expression marries some of Glenmorangie's rarest and oldest stocks, including liquid aged in bespoke virgin American oak casks designed by Dr. Lumsden himself, with whiskies matured up to 40 years.

Flavour Profile: The Signet opens with an opulent wave of dark chocolate and freshly ground espresso, layered with vanilla, butterscotch, and dried fruits spiced with cinnamon and brightened by orange zest. As it unfolds, the whisky reveals remarkable silkiness—intense mocha and cocoa from the chocolate malt mingle with caramelized orange, nutmeg, and tropical fruit undertones that echo Glenmorangie's signature style.
