Founded in 1875 on the Moray Firth coast, Glenglassaugh is one of Scotland's most maritime distilleries, its spirit shaped by the sea air of the Highlands' northern shore. After long periods of silence, the distillery was revived in 2008, and this 2011 vintage comes from the early years of that new era, made here from peated malt.
Selected and bottled by Milroy's of Soho, London's celebrated whisky shop, for its Soho Selection of bold, flavour-forward casks, this 13 year old was matured in a first-fill Palo Cortado sherry hogshead. The rare sherry's complex, nutty fruitiness meets Glenglassaugh's coastal smoke to create a whisky of real depth and contrast. Bottled at natural cask strength of 52.8%.
