Caol Ila 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Whisky: Entry-level expression from Caol Ila distillery, launched in June 2002 and widely regarded by experts as the perfect gateway into peated Islay whiskies. Named after the Gaelic term for "Sound of Islay" (pronounced "Cull Eela"), the distillery was founded in 1846 on the shores of the strait separating Islay from Jura, originally chosen for its access to clean water from Loch Nam Ban.

Flavour Profile: Delivers a fresh, sweetly fruity and smooth-bodied experience with a delicate balance of tastes that makes it distinctly approachable for a peated whisky. An elegant, oily dram where refined tar and smoke mingle with sweet boiled sweets, citrus, and subtle maritime saltiness . Unlike heavier Islay peat bombs, it offers a more measured, accessible smoke that allows the citrus, maritime, and sweet notes to shine through without overwhelming the palate.
