Ardbeg 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg 17 Year Old is a 2024 limited-edition Committee Release that marks the return of this classic expression, originally launched in 1997. The new release aims to faithfully recreate the style of the original by blending unpeated and regular Ardbeg spirit, resulting in a lighter, fruitier, and less intensely peated whisky compared to typical Ardbeg offerings. Bottled at 40% ABV and chill-filtered, it delivers aromas reminiscent of the distillery’s maritime environment, with notes of mossy peat, licorice, malt, and yeast. On the palate, it is smooth and approachable, with smoky flavors balanced by a drier, more complex character, lacking some of the vanilla sweetness found in other Ardbeg expressions. The finish is long and layered, featuring pine, tar, smoked bread, and subtle metallic hints.
