Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 54 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Whisky: The A'bunadh (pronounced "ah-boo-nah") is a highly acclaimed cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky from the Aberlour Distillery in the heart of Scotland's Speyside region. The name means "the original" in Gaelic , created as a tribute to the distillery's founder, James Fleming.  The A'bunadh is matured in Oloroso Sherry butts, and although being a non-age-statement release, contains whiskies between 5 years and 25 years.

Flavour Profile: A'bunadh delivers an intensely rich and full-bodied flavour profile dominated by deep sherry influence from first-fill Oloroso casks, presenting a bold "sherry bomb" experience with prominent notes of dark dried fruits like raisins, figs, and dates, alongside warm baking spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, complemented by sweet toffee, dark chocolate, orange peel, and roasted nuts, all wrapped in a creamy, viscous mouthfeel with a long, warming finish of oak, leather, and lingering spice—best enjoyed with a splash of water to tame its cask-strength heat and unlock its complex layers of dried fruit, spice, and chocolate sweetness.
