A’bunadh is Gaelic for “of the origin.” Aberlour created the series to recreate the bold, old-fashioned Speyside style: matured only in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at natural cask strength, with no chill-filtration. Most A’bunadh batches carry no age statement. This one is different.
Distilled in 1987 and bottled in 1999 to mark the Millennium, this release carries a 12-year age statement. Only 2,000 bottles were made. Each one has a label made of real hallmarked sterling silver, individually numbered, and comes with its original hessian bag and presentation box. It is one of the most collectible A’bunadh bottlings, and a rare chance to taste the series as it was before the numbered batches became standard.
