Craigellachie Distillery is a historic single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the village of Craigellachie, in the heart of the Speyside whisky region of Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1891 and was established to produce malt whisky primarily for blends like White Horse. The name "Craigellachie" means "rocky hill" in Gaelic, referring to a nearby cliff overlooking the River Spey.
The distillery is renowned for its full-bodied, robust single malt with a distinctive slight sulphurous note derived from its rare use of traditional worm tub condensers. Its whisky combines rich, oily, and meaty flavours with tropical fruit, citrus, spice, and caramel notes, making it stand out among typically lighter Speyside malts. While historically used mostly in blends, Craigellachie has released official single malts since 2014, showcasing its unique character.
