Collection: Benrinnes

Region: Speyside, Scotland

Year Built: 1826

Benrinnes Distillery, founded in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie near the Ben Rinnes mountain in Speyside, was destroyed by a flood in 1829 and rebuilt in 1835 by John Innes at a new site. It has changed ownership several times and was modernized after a fire in 1896. Known for its unique whisky character featuring fruity and meaty notes, Benrinnes used a rare partial triple distillation process until 2007, producing a robust, full-bodied spirit often matured in sherry and bourbon casks.
